“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” — 2 Timothy 2:2

College athletes silently carry huge burdens; secretly question their value and worth; solemnly hope they can live up to expectations. Many feel alone in this journey. The Gospel offers a hope that pushes back against these realities.

What if the narrow path of following Christ could be walked with others?

In the book of Ecclesiastes, it states, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls, and has no one to help them up… A cord of 3 three strands is not easily broken.”

Mentorship is a process of walking alongside people over time as they aim to follow Christ and make Him known. Mentorship involves trust, grace, and truth.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” — MattHEW 28:18-20
